こんにちは、みなさん！It’s been awhile since I last posted anything on here. 先月、フィリピンに帰りましたから。Now that I’m back I’ve been traveling and thinking for my blog content. So far, I found my trip to Minato Mirai in Yokohama worth sharing. I was alone in this trip so this might be interesting for any individual who likes to go solo.
However, I wasn’t completely alone traveling from Tokyo to Yokohama. I should mention that I went with my husband and met some friends during lunch. In fact there’s this J.H. Cafe with a Hollywood theme that you guys might want to visit if you happen to be at Motomachi.
One of the perks of traveling alone is, you could go anywhere and try anything you want. I remembered traveling here last year and I wasn’t able to try the things that intrigued me.
This time I had all afternoon to explore because my husband had an appointment elsewhere. First thing I tried was the landmark plaza where they have the Sky Garden at 69th floor.
According to the pictures displayed inside the tower, you can see Mt. Fuji, Odawara, and the Tanzawa Mountains if it was a very clear day. During my visit, it was pretty cloudy by the mountains but the rest was breathtaking. It was cheaper than the Tokyo Skytree entrance fee and I got a pretty decent Yakohama Minato Mirai magnet, you can check out their fee in their website in english.
I was planning to spend the whole afternoon up there in their Sky Cafe but looking down at the bay, I just felt that I’m going to miss out on something great.
So I went down and explored, first thing that caught my eye was the amusement park. At first, I was a little shy because I’m all alone but eventually I got to the Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris wheel and rode one of the clear gondolas. I got a little nervous when I was at the peak but calmed down a bit once I got lower.
Because I was feeling confident after conquering the Cosmo Clock 21, I decided to try the rides in CosmoWorld amusement park. I even rode the Ocean Swinger which was a mini version of the Flying Fiesta in Enchanted Kingdom.
I hesitated when I realized I’m the only adult who did not accompany any child. In the end, I just enjoyed swinging around and looking up the Minato Mirai skyscrapers. Landmark Tower, Queen’s Towers and Pan Pacific Hotel were like beautiful giants looking down at you. It was pretty odd to appreciate the city’s architecture while riding the Disk-O but it’s all I can do other than scream my lungs out or laugh like an idiot.
I was pretty proud of myself because of this trip. No, not just this trip, I’m pretty proud of myself lately. I went hiking the other week in Mt. Oyama which makes me think, Kanagawa might just be my favorite prefecture.
But I digressed, after exploring the Cosmo World I walked around until I reached the red brick warehouse.
It was awesome to find Red Brick Paradise in the middle of the Red Concretes, who would’ve thought of an island in the middle of the Plaza?
Anyway, back in December they had snow, ice skating rink and Christmas trees in the event plaza, this time they have sands, hammocks and swings. According to their website, they have something going on in the plaza every season, including Oktoberfest.
I went on walking around the place until I found myself back at Sakuragicho Station, then I met up with my husband to have dinner with friends. Where else? Yokohama Chinatown!
I’m starting to love Yokohama more than Tokyo, hence I’m currently going around Tokyo to write a blog about it. So far I have Shopping and Cafes on my list.
I’ve been here for 8 months now and I still feel like a tourist, but to enjoy this trip alone while using some nihonggo is an achievement!
I hope you like this blog and subscribe! I promise it won’t hurt :)ありがとうございました！
