Setsugetsuka Hakone Hotel

Hello Everyone! This blog aims to give you an idea of what it’s like to stay in Hakone during the non-busy season and what Japanese accommodation looks like.

This trip was supposed to be for the three of us, including my mother.

However, she had to move her trip on a later date so we ended up going for K’s post birthday trip.

We used Odakyu Travel’s services to book for this hotel which already includes the Romance car tickets, dinner, and breakfast.

Upon check-in, we were offered an upgrade to a bigger and on a higher floor room with an additional fee of about 5000yen. We took it and after that, they asked us to pick 3 Japanese snacks in the lobby and waited for the room keys at their cafe lounge.

The drinks in the cafe are free for all the guests. Free steamed meat buns are also served there around 5:30pm – 6:30pm. They even have free noodles being served at the Fugetsu Restaurant inside the hotel at 10:30pm – 11:30pm.

They gave us this comprehensive sheet upon check-in, behind it is an instruction on how to use the onsen, in English, Korean and Chinese.

The kaiseki dinner was a feast! Their Japanese breakfast was healthy and delicious. I believe it’s worth including it on your accommodation plan.

It’s very spacious for a Japanese room

Their hot springs were okay, my experience in Sendai is still my number one but it’s a decent hot spring. Their man-made carbonated bath was a first for me. They said that carbonated water helps with your circulation but I enjoyed it because of the tiny bubbles sticking onto my skin. It was pretty amusing and highly recommended even if  it is not the cold season. I also love their private bath just because I was able to feature it in my video but the water is too hot for June. I recommend a small private onsen bath during the cold season.

In our room, there was samue clothing but in the Lobby, you can also choose a variety of Yukatas.

This Hotel is only 2 minutes away from Gora station and 3 minutes away from Hakone Gora Park. Right in front of it is the bus stop and several cafes and restaurants are open nearby. All within a walkable distance!

Lastly, you can watch and get further details about our stay on my travel vlog below.
